Snapshots in TimeThe theme of the mural is "Snapshots in Time" and will depict a pictorial timeline of Battle Ground from the city's inception to modern times. The images will be hand painted replicas of actual photos with the oldest at the left in sepia tones and newest on the right in full color. Photos will be added one at a time in a progressive fashion over the coming months. The mural will be completed in phases with the first targeted for Harvest Days 2008 and the last to be completed by Harvest Days 2009. (more)
One of the most exciting aspects of the mural is that the public will play a role in selecting the photos. The selection process will occur throughout 2008 and will be conducted at a handful of events so watch The Reflector and our site for updates. Our hope and expectation is that this project will draw the community together and create a sense of pride in Battle Ground's unique history. The project budget is $35,000 and fund raising is already under way. If you'd like to contribute to the mural donations can be mailed to OTBGA at PO Box 910, Battle Ground, WA 98604.
